Despite past references to a “Skool of Finance,” SoFin is not a formal school, university, accredited educational institution, bank, broker-dealer, insurance company, or licensed investment advisory firm. SoFin is a peer community of finance mentors and learners sharing general educational content and connecting people who want to talk with a real conversation.

Mentors Are Community Members, Not Automatically Licensed Professionals
SoFin “mentors” are community members who have opted in to have conversations with prospects and learners. Some mentors may hold professional licenses (e.g., insurance or securities licenses) and some may not, or may be in the process of obtaining one — always ask a mentor directly about their current licensure status before acting on anything they tell you, and never rely on a conversation with a mentor as a substitute for licensed advice.
Free Assessments, Reviews & Connections to Licensed Professionals
Some SoFin mentors are not yet individually licensed but are connected to, and trained by, mentors on the team who already hold the relevant insurance and/or securities licenses. A mentor who is not yet licensed will not sell you a product, negotiate terms, or give you individualized financial, insurance, investment, or tax recommendations. Instead, their role is limited to general education (quiz, calculators, conversation) and, if you're interested, connecting you with a licensed professional on the team for any “free financial health assessment,” policy review, or actual product discussion. Any compensation a mentor receives for that introduction is not contingent on whether the licensed professional's prospect ultimately purchases anything, in line with the referral-fee and anti-rebating rules that apply in most states. If you ever have any doubt about whether the person you're speaking with is licensed, or whether what they're telling you is general education versus a specific recommendation, just ask — they're expected to tell you plainly.
Calculator Results Are Estimates
All calculator outputs (debt payoff timelines, net worth, emergency fund targets, etc.) are simplified estimates based solely on the numbers you enter. They do not account for taxes, fees, inflation, changing interest rates, or your complete financial picture, and should not be treated as a financial plan.
No Income or Results Guarantee
Any description of the “Join the Team” community opportunity, and any testimonial, quote, or example shared on this site or by a mentor, reflects individual experiences only. Results vary widely based on effort, background, licensure, market conditions, and other factors outside SoFin's control. SoFin makes no guarantee of income, enrollment outcomes, or any other specific result.
Third-Party Services
Booking a call may direct you to a mentor's personal Google Calendar page — a third-party tool not owned or operated by SoFin. Our Discord and Facebook community links also lead to third-party platforms with their own terms and privacy practices. SoFin is not responsible for third-party content, availability, or data practices.
